Between the demo launching on 27 April 2026 and 1.0.0 arriving on 15 September, the developer published more than 30 announcements. Four of them were system-level changes that void guides written earlier in 2026.

If the guide you are reading was written mid-demo, any one of those four can make it wrong.

Four changes that killed older advice

Every cooldown effect became Cooldown Speed. The 11 June 2026 update merged “reduce cooldown by a percentage” and “reduce cooldown by a flat number of seconds” into a single stat. The official conversion: +100% cooldown speed doubles how often a unit casts, turning a 6-second cooldown into 3 seconds. Advice about “reduce cooldown by X seconds” no longer exists as a mechanic, because every acceleration effect now edits cooldown speed.

Poison stopped ignoring shield, and shield’s status reduction fell to 15%. On 21 May 2026 poison no longer passed through shields. On 24 May the reduction shields applied to status damage moved from 35% to 25%. On 24 August it dropped to 15%. Guides claiming poison bypasses shields, or quoting a 35% reduction, are out of date. The intent across that sequence is fairly clear: the developer wanted shield boards to survive status damage, without leaving pure status builds helpless.

The low-shop-rank farming route was deleted. Patch 0.8.0 removed Shady Contract, the trinket that let you hold your shop rank down and farm buffs indefinitely. The developer’s stated reason was that sitting at a low shop rank forever is neither healthy nor interesting. Any guide built around holding a low shop rank and farming is dead. The same patch converted Market License from an item into a trinket.

Late-game base HP went up three times. The developer said the quiet part out loud in the 0.4.0 and 1.0.0 notes: late fights were ending within seconds, too fast to read. Base HP increases at day 10 onward were applied three times, alongside heavy cuts to late-game multiplicative scaling. Descriptions of “two-second kills” in the late game are no longer accurate, and all-in burst boards need re-evaluating.

Re-learning order for a returning player

Start by reading Patch Notes in the main menu so you know which build you are on.

Then drop the “reduce cooldown by X seconds” habit and think in cooldown speed. Re-learn the shield and status relationship: poison no longer passes through shields, and shields cut status damage by 15%. The low-shop-rank farming line is deleted, so stop looking for a way around it.

Then re-read how shop rank and item rarity interact, since 0.8.0 moved a lot there. Only after that is it worth looking at the current meta, because the earlier steps change what “strong” even means.

Keeping up from here

The Patch Notes screen on the main menu is the fastest source, added in 1.0.0. The Steam news hub keeps every announcement, which is useful for going back. The official Discord is where developer updates and player discussion concentrate.

This page will be rewritten entry by entry as “date, what changed, what it invalidated, source”.

One caveat: the 11 June 2026 announcement states outright that the balance changes were too numerous to list. That patch has no public changelog, so its full numeric changes can only be inferred from later patches and in-game values.
